Poetry Night

  • Mesa County Public Library 443 North 6th Street Grand Junction, CO, 81501 United States (map)

Explore the work of poets; discover the themes, styles and techniques used in poetry; and share your own work for feedback.

Poetry Night is held at the main branch of the Mesa County Public Library at 5th & Grand every second Wednesday of the month, and is hosted by Lisa Connors.

The first hour is spent learning about a topic related to poetry, and the second hour is spent sharing poems from the previous month’s challenge, or just a poem to share. Listeners are also welcome.

Go to https://mesacountylibraries.org/events/ for more information.

March’s Poetry Night will be on Wednesday the 13th from 6-7:45 p.m. in the Monument Room at the Main Library in Grand Junction. The topic for this month will be Leigh Stein – a modern poet for modern times. The February topic was the Duplex, a contemporary poetry form created by Jericho Brown, and the challenge was to write a Duplex of your own. If you’re not feeling the challenge, feel free to bring a different poem or just come listen. Everyone is welcome!

Event is in the Mesa Room at Mesa County Public Library, 443 North 6th Street, Grand Junction, CO
