Out West Books will host Professor Emeritus Rex Cole to discuss his book Geology of Grand Mesa Colorado which walks you through the geological history of this area.
A third-generation Coloradan, geologist Dr. Rex Cole grew up in the shadow of Grand Mesa and has devoted much of his academic career to understanding this fascinating landform. He recieved geology degrees from Mesa College, Colorado State University, and the University of Utah. He recently retired after a 25-year career at Colorado Mesa University and is now Porefssor of Geology, Emeritus. He has authored or co-authored numerous articles, book chapters, and field guidebooks dealing with the geology of western Colorado and eastern Utah, and has given many presentations to professional organizations, academic institutions and community groups.
