September’s Poetry Night at the Library will be Wednesday, Sept 11th from 6-7:45 p.m. in the Mesa Room at the Main Library in Grand Junction. The topic for this month will be Kimiko Hahn, prolific poet and teacher, who advocates making a mess and getting your hands dirty as a path to creativity. Last month’s topic was another back to basics topic – the Line Break. The challenge was to write a poem where something that literally could not happen happens, paying particular attention to line breaks Or to revisit an old poem and re-break your lines as in the exercise above. If you’re not feeling the challenge, that’s fine – bring something else to read or just come listen. Everyone is welcome!
